Volunteer Requirements

The Monterey Trail Mustang Football & Cheer program, believe in building strong communities through teamwork, sportsmanship, and active participation. Volunteering is an essential part of the success of our program, and we rely on the dedication and support of our families to ensure a positive experience for all involved.

Volunteer Commitment:
As a parent or guardian of a registered participant in the Monterey Trail Mustang Football & Cheer program, you are required to complete 10 volunteer hours for each child you have registered in the program, up to a maximum of 20 hours for families with multiple participants.

Each volunteer shift is 2 hours, so you will need to complete 5 shifts (10 hours) if you have one child in the program, or 10 shifts (20 hours) if you have two or more children. These volunteer hours can be completed in various roles including, but not limited to, field setup, concessions, team support, or event coordination.

Alternative to Volunteering:
If you are unable to complete the required volunteer hours, you may opt to pay a $150 fee per child to waive your volunteer requirement. The fee will be applied at checkout and is non-refundable.

Volunteer Sign-Up Deadline:
All parents or guardians must sign up for their volunteer shifts by August 5, 2025. If you have not signed up by this date, your volunteer shift(s) will be automatically scheduled for you. Please ensure that you sign up in advance to select a time that works best for you.

No-Show Policy:
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way, but it is important that all shifts are fulfilled. If you do not show up for a scheduled volunteer shift without prior notice, your card will be automatically charged a $30 fee for each missed shift. This policy helps ensure that our events and activities run smoothly and without interruption.

Importance and Benefits of Volunteering:
Volunteering is a vital part of the success of our program. By contributing your time and efforts, you are helping create a positive and supportive environment for all of our athletes, coaches, and families. Volunteering offers numerous benefits, including:

Building Community: Volunteering helps foster a sense of community and encourages teamwork and camaraderie among families.
Making a Difference: Your time and effort directly impact the success of the program, helping ensure that every participant has the best possible experience.
